Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information ChatCaddy collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. ChatCaddy is operated by Eliryn ("we", "us"). The short version: the extension processes Whatnot chat in your browser, and our website stores only what we need to run your account.

1. The ChatCaddy extension

• Chat data stays in your browser. The extension reads the live chat of Whatnot streams you open and organizes it locally. Session state is kept in Chrome's session storage, and a per-show chat log is kept in Chrome's local storage for 24 hours (so you can export it as CSV) and then deleted automatically. We do not receive this data.
• Settings and API key. Your settings and, if you add one, your Jev API key are stored in Chrome's local storage on your device. The key is never synced to other devices and is never sent to us.
• AI classification (optional). If you add a Jev API key, the text of chat messages, the sender's role and status in the chat (for example, top buyer or new user), and a few recent chat messages for context, including the chatters' usernames, are sent directly from your browser to TypeSafe (typesafe.ai) to classify them. That processing is governed by TypeSafe's terms and privacy policy. Without a key, all classification happens locally.
• Affiliate links. Whatnot links shown in the extension may pass through an affiliate tracking link. If you click one, the affiliate network may record the click as described in its own policies.

2. The website and your account

• Account data. When you create an account, our authentication provider Clerk processes your email address, sign-in details, and, if you use Google sign-in, basic profile information from Google.
• Our database. We store your account ID, email address, current plan, and account creation and update times in our database, hosted by Neon.
• Payments. When paid plans launch, payments will be processed by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. We will not receive or store your full card details.
• Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard request data such as IP address and browser information to serve and protect the site.

3. How we use information

We use account information to provide and secure your account, deliver the features of your plan, process payments, respond to support requests, and send important service notices. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Sharing

We share information only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf to run the Service, or when required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep account information while your account is active. If you delete your account, your record is removed from our database. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing privacy@chatcaddy.app. Extension data on your device can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email privacy@chatcaddy.app.

7. Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email.
